Full Day Visit

(Morning and afternoon elephant hikes + lunch)

Spend a full day in one of the most biodiverse forests in Cambodia and observe some of our resident retired elephants! This is a completely unique experience spending time immersed in nature and observing former working elephants as they return to the forest and get to exhibit their natural behaviors again. During your guided hike you will learn about the histories of the elephants and elephant welfare, as well as the traditions and culture of the local Indigenous Bunoung people. Your morning hike will end at our forest base camp, set along the side of a valley looking into the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary.  Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch made by our local Bunong staff, rest in a hammock, and enjoy being truly immersed in nature. After lunch, set back out on another hike into the forest for a second elephant observation with a different group of elephants that calls the EVP home.

Taste of the Jungle

2 days/ 1 night

Enjoy two days and one glorious night immersed out in the jungle! Watch the sun go down over the forest with a drink in your hand and wake up to the sound of the jungle in the morning. Your two days will include two amazing guided elephant hikes, one jungle trek, one volunteer session, and an overnight stay in our forest base camp!  

You will spend time immersed in nature and observing former working elephants as they return to the forest and get to exhibit their natural behaviors again. During your guided elephant hikes you will learn about the histories of the elephants and elephant welfare, as well as the traditions and culture of the local Indigenous Bunoung people. On your jungle trek, you will meander through lush jungle, admire ancient trees, see rivers and  waterfalls and if you are lucky, have the chance to catch glimpses of other wildlife! You will also have the opportunity to join locals, staff and other volunteers on the many projects it takes to keep the sanctuary running. Volunteer projects may include reforestation, trail maintenance, and small building projects (note these activities are not with the elephants). Not up for volunteering and just want to enjoy the forest; cozy up in one of our hammocks with a book, or bring your binoculars to do some bird watching!

We love to support students studying Vet Science, Biology, Conservation or other related fields that will support the welfare and conservation of the elephant species. We are also open to discussing study programs focused on certain subjects and ideas!

Booking Terms

Booking Conditions

  • We advise you to secure the dates you require as quickly as possible, as the project gets busier every year. Please state your preferred booking dates in your initial email. We will then check availability and book your dates into our calendar. We are a small team but we work to get back to you as soon as possible!
  • Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All visitors are required to hold full travel insurance (including medical evacuation) and sign a liability waiver on arrival.
  • All bookings must be confirmed by email in advance.
  • We ask for payment at least one week in advance in order to confirm your booking. Cancellations within 7 days of the booking are non refundable. If you are unable to make it for your booked date due to illness or emergency, please let us know as far in advance as possible and to move your booking to an alternative date (provided we have availability on said date), or provide a return voucher valid for 12 months (for the same details of your booking).
  • The EVP operates rain or shine. However we reserve the right to alter or cancel your trip due to safety concerns and unforeseen circumstances such as elephant related incidents which require our immediate attention, extreme weather, or other local community related events. Should this happen, you will receive a full refund.
  • Any bank or transfer fees incurred during payment in the country of origin are the responsibility of the customer and we are not responsible.

TAX Inclusive

ELIE and the EVP adhere to all laws of Cambodia. We pay all necessary fees with the government here in Cambodia including tourism licenses, staff salary tax and National Social Security for all staff. As a registered NGO/Not for Profit we also pay all required income tax and VAT (Value Added Tax) on our sales to visit the sanctuary and the sales of souvenirs.
